'Summertime, and the livin’ is easy.'

-- George Gershwin

Ah, summer! The time when things slow down, when casual reigns, and when effortless style is practically mandatory. As the days grow longer and the weather gets sultrier, it’s important to develop a styling plan for getting through the season with the most impact, looks-wise, for the least effort, time-wise.

Luckily, Keratin Complex has some great styling and keratin hair products to help you get easy, breezy summertime hair!

The No. 1 summer styling must-have, without a doubt, is Keratin Complex Sweet Definition Texturizing Sugar Mist. This anti-salt texture spray is formulated with sugar cane extract to condition the hair and deliver glossy shine, and hydrating marine ingredients (plankton, kelp and algae) to help create—and keep—curl. Other ingredients help protect hair color and shield the hair from the harmful effects of the sun. Just a few sprays of Sweet Definition can create deconstructed texture, or can refresh and reactivate curl on second-day hair.

Toss a bottle of Sweet Definition in your tote or beach bag, and you’re half way there. For the other half (the how-to part), here are the steps for three stylish summer hairdos—wavy, pony and bun hairstyles—using our sugar spray as well as other key Keratin Complex products.

Step 1: Apply 2 – 6 pumps of Infusion Keratin Replenisher to palms and distribute evenly throughout the hair, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends.

Step 2: Using a blow-dryer on medium heat, flip your head upside down and focus the airflow towards to scalp for a refreshed volume boost.

Step 3: Spray Sweet Definition over the hair.

Step 4: Pull hair into a loose ponytail using your fingers and secure with an elastic.

Step 5: Separate the hair into two sections and wrap the hair in opposite directions loosely around the base of the ponytail.

Step 6: Secure hair with bobby pins about an inch from the bottom of the strands, using fingers to loosen and design as desired.

Step 7: To lock in the style, finish with Keratin Complex Flex Flow Flexible Shaping Hairspray.

TIP: For an on-trend double bun, create two ponytails and follow steps 5 and 6 for each one.

Step 1: Begin with dry hair. Spray Flex Flow hairspray on the hair, and comb into a low ponytail, ensuring hair sits low over the ears. Secure with an elastic.

Step 2: Take a medium-sized section of hair from the outside of the ponytail and use it to wrap around the hair at the base of the ponytail. For a longer wrap effect, as you complete the first section, take a second section and join them, wrapping the next section lower down on the ponytail. Secure with bobby pins.

Step 3: Spray Sweet Definition throughout the ponytail. Use the Transformer Interchangeable Styling Rod with the clip barrel attachment to add soft waves to the ponytail.

Step 4: Separate the curls with your fingers and finish with Flex Flow Flexible Shaping Hairspray for added hold.

Step 1: Prep hair by spraying all over with Sweet Definition.

Step 2: Take 1- to 2-inch sections of hair and wrap the hair around the barrel of a curling iron, rope style. Leave 1 to 2 inches of the ends unwrapped. To create an undone style, alternate the wave pattern.

Step 3: For the sections around the face, wrap hair away from the face. Finger style with MoldMe Matte Texturizing Cream.

Step 4: Finish with a light spray of Flex Flow.

TIP: Use smaller sections to achieve more defined waves.
