It’s official: Texture is IN!
As if seeing riotous curls, sultry waves and disheveled ‘dos on all the runways and on city streets everywhere weren’t enough, the arbiters of style—fashion mags—are calling texture the next big thing in hair!
Take Glamour magazine, whose recent blog on summer 2015 hair trends listed several hairstyle looks from fashion designers that definitely fall under the “texture” category.
Here’s what the blog had to say about these:
Hair trend: Texture
“From seriously backcombed up-dos to flyaway waves, your hair has never been more wind-proof,” says the blog. Recent runway shows that have exhibited this trend included 3.1 Phillip Lim, Chanel and Burberry Prorsum.
Styling tip: The blog suggests adding crimped sections for volume and styling it with a texturizing spray. (We’ve got the perfect one coming out in June. Stay tuned …)
Hair trend: Waves
Long, loose waves have been seen on the runways for Burberry Prorsum, Philip Lim and Chloe, among others. Glamour suggests letting hair dry naturally “for a touch of flyaway movement.” Or, if you’ve got straight locks, use a curling iron or even old-fashioned rag rollers to help create relaxed curls.
And, for all-day wave action, Keratin Complex Style Therapy products such as Flex Flow Flexible Shaping Hairspray, MoldMe Matte Texturizing Cream or Glowtion Potion Styling Oil, can help “lock” your locks into place!
Hair trend: Off-center part
Designers such as Fendi, Gucci and Ralph Lauren showed off this trend that looks great on straight hair, but also can help show off natural texture. That’s because changing up your part can encourage volume by forcing the hair to fall in an unfamiliar way.
